What is the pupil premium grant?
At Aldermaston School our inclusive ethos aims to meet the learning needs of all our individual children through a high standard of teaching and care. Where children have barriers to learning, we offer additional support. This provision can be for both academic and pastoral needs, individually or as a group to ensure that each child is supported to reach their potential. One area of funding for this is Pupil Premium Funding.
Pupil Premium is additional funding given to schools to support children who may be vulnerable to underachievement. These include pupils who are:
- Currently entitled to free school meals or have been entitled to free school meals for any period of time in the last six years.
- In care or looked after by the local authority
- Children of Armed Service Personnel
The aim of the funding is to raise the attainment of these pupils to reach their full potential in all aspects of the school curriculum. Schools decide how the allocated pupil premium funding should be spent and evaluate its impact.
